WHEREAS the Province of British Columbia has adopted the Community Charter and Local Government Act;

AND WHEREAS there are 191 local governments in British Columbia who use these legislative tools routinely;

AND WHEREAS currently there exists no effective and user friendly Index:

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the North Central Local Government Association and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities lobby the Province of British Columbia to prepare and provide to the Local Governments in British Columbia an effective and user-friendly index for the Community Charter and Local Government Act, and that this task be set as Provincial priority for 2016/2017. Alternatively, that the Union of British Columbia Municipalities contract with CivicInfo BC to create a functional index for the Community Charter and Local Government Act.
