Whereas The Provincial Government’s approach to invasive species is to find, identify, and systematically eradicate, contain or control new invasive species before they can spread beyond their point of entry; and

Whereas the Province does not have jurisdiction to perform noxious weed and invasive plant control activities on CN Rail right of ways; and

Whereas current invasive plant management programs for noxious weeds and invasive plants along rail lines are not being effectively performed;

Therefore be it resolved that NCLGA and UBCM lobby the Provincial Government to assess and improve the noxious weeds and invasive plant removal program along rail lines throughout British Columbia.
